Lizzie Devane

Communications & Development

Our Director of Development & Communications, Lizzie has been at SCC since 2019. Having experienced tumultuous housing instability growing up, she truly values her role in helping SCC strengthen its capacity and resource development. Prior to SCC, she was the managing director of an award-winning communications & design agency and helped found two progressive voter and civic engagement startups.

In her role, Lizzie oversees critical responsibilities, including donor management, crafting marketing collateral, managing the CITC process, and driving our grant-writing efforts. Her strategic approach has been instrumental in advancing SCC’s goals.

In 2020, Lizzie moved to southern Vermont with her husband Jon. They have a son Leo and are expecting another son in early 2024. She also grows mushrooms and is a fledgling silversmith.

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
