Exciting Job Connections!

Charlene Stallworth graduated in 2018 from the Culinary Arts Job Training program run by SCC and Bunker Hill Community College, and went on to get hired as a cook at the Envoy Hotel on the gorgeous Boston waterfront. This Spring she came back to First Source to refine her interview skills for a potential culinary opportunity at Encore Boston Harbor. After her interview, Charlene was immediately offered a position as First Cook and is excited to take her career to a new level! Congrats Charlene!!

First Source member and LDI graduate Janeth Janampa applied for a job with Encore Boston Harbor, and was offered a job as Kitchen Team Leader. She began working there this month.  From the first day, Janeth has been recognized by the team for her outstanding work ethic, and she is absolutely loving her new job.  A true leader in the community, Janeth was able to help five other First Source members interview for positions in the kitchen, and all five were offered jobs on the spot! Way to go Janeth!!

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
