First Source Internship Opportunity!
SCC is seeking an intern to work in our First Source Jobs Program as part of the Economic Opportunity team. The intern will work to support two primary areas of programming:
1) Provide career support to participants of our growing pipeline of new job seekers, including conducting intakes, resume and cover letter assistance, job search, and job application assistance. The intern will work directly with job seekers through one-on-one and group job readiness skills training. The intern will also help launch, coordinate and staff a new career coaching drop-in clinic on Thursday afternoons.
2) Implement the use of a new program evaluation tool to better understand the full impact of the program on participant economic resiliency. The “Job Readiness Checklist” was designed in 2018 and is ready for roll out program-wide. The intern will develop a plan for participant outreach, help collect data from program participants, and enter data into SalesForce database (training will be provided).
We are looking for someone excited about workforce development, nonprofit service delivery, and program evaluation, who enjoys teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a direct service role is helpful but not required. This position requires strong computer skills and time management skills. Proficiency in a second language is preferred.
The hours and schedule for this internship are flexible, depending on the ideal candidate’s needs. We estimate a need for approximately 10-15 hours a week over a 6-month period with the option to extend and add additional projects based on the intern’s interests.
To apply, please submit a short cover letter and resume to Blake Roberts Crall: brobertscrall@somervillecdc.org. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
