Scott Hayman joined the SCC staff as Director of Real Estate in October of 2013 after administering the Federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program in 10 cities throughout the Commonwealth for the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation (MHIC). Prior to his work with MHIC, Scott served as the Director of Housing for the City of Worcester’s Executive Office of Planning and Community Development.
There he advanced resident-driven planning and community development initiatives such as the 30-acre, neighborhood revitalization plan, sponsored by Clark University and the Main South CDC. The plan included the reclamation and remediation of industrial Brownfields, the construction of more than 80 new units of first-time homebuyer opportunities for local residents, a new Boys and Girls Club facility, and a multi-purpose athletic field for the neighborhood.
Scott also served as a HUD supportive housing technical assistance provider and organized Continuum of Care programming and planning for homeless families and individuals at the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) for two years. Prior to this, Scott served as the Executive Director of the Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance, a nonprofit, public education, advocacy and service provider organization in Worcester.
Scott lives in Worcester with his wife and two teenage children.
