A more in depth discussion on interviewing, building on the Interview prep workshops from last week. Participants will answer interview questions using Interview Jenga and will also practice mock interviews with a partner using a role play script where one person will be the employer and one person will be the prospective employee. Participants will be better prepared to answer difficult interview questions.

SCC submitted a Special Permit Application to the ZBA for a hearing on July 16 to adaptively re-use the former East Somerville American Legion Post building as 11 homeownership units, 8 of which will be restricted as affordable homeownership opportunities and 3 of which will be market rate homeownership opportunities. Every summer we plan a work-free, all-fun evening for our members to get together, enjoy good food, swap stories of what we’ve been up to, and relax. The whole family is welcome and encouraged to come. Last year we started the tradition of an open-mic talent show, which surpassed our expectations! Bring a song, a poem, a skit, or anything else you’d like to share with the crowd.
Less than 6 months after its kick-off, the Somerville First Source Jobs Program is celebrating its 16th job placement. These placements include part-time and full-time jobs in different industries, including restaurants, retail stores, and banks around Somerville.
