The Somerville First Source Jobs Initiative, a partnership between Somerville Community Corporation (SCC), the City of Somerville, and The Career Place (TCP), will be hosting a breakfast this Friday, October 24th, to celebrate the progress we have made toward bringing good quality jobs to Somerville residents.
On October 8th, Union United was invited to present on Community Benefit Agreements (CBA's) to the Union Square Civic Advisory Committee. AHOC is a group of Somerville tenants, homeowners, and community members who are devoted to preserving and increasing affordable housing opportunities and stabilizing existing communities in Somerville. Right now we are working on a campaign to increase affordable housing through inclusionary zoning. Joun us to learn more!
We meet on the third Thursday of every month. Interpretation and dinner are always provided.
A more in depth discussion on interviewing, building on the Interview prep workshops from last week. Participants will answer interview questions using Interview Jenga and will also practice mock interviews with a partner using a role play script where one person will be the employer and one person will be the prospective employee. Participants will be better prepared to answer difficult interview questions.
