Filling out a job application the right way is as important as having a good resume.  During this workshop, a career development professional will teach you what are the most common mistakes and best practices when filling a job application.

Addressing a problem at work or even identifying what is the right way to tell your boss that you have to be absent could be very difficult.  During this workshop you will learn the best practices to communicate at work.

The Job Seekers Support Group is a space for job seekers to share their experiences in the job search process and networking with other job seekers.  This will also be a time for non-native English speakers to practice their language skills in a safe and comfortable environment.

Union United is a coalition of stakeholders, including small business owners, residents, activists, immigrant groups, religious congregations, labor unions, and community-based organizations, working to ensure that the Union Square redevelopment process results in tangible benefits — not displacement — for the Union Square community.

Affordable Housing Organizing Committee Meeting

AHOC is a group of Somerville tenants, homeowners, and community members who are devoted to preserving and increasing affordable housing opportunities and stabilizing existing communities in Somerville.

We meet on the third Thursday of every month. Interpretation and dinner are always provided.

City of Somerville Proposed Zoning Information Session

6:30pm

Somerville Armory, 191 Highland Ave, Somervile

The session will include a presentation on the new code followed by an opportunity to review the code and map and discuss them with city staff. Following this information session, the Land Use Committee of the Board of Aldermen and the Planning Board have scheduled a joint public hearing on the proposed ordinance for Tuesday, Feb. 10th.

Union Sq. Civic Advisory Committee

The Civic Advisory Committee (CAC) is the public board appointed by the Mayor to provide a formal citizens' review of plans related to Union Square. The CAC exists to act as a sounding board for community thoughts and concerns, and to provide a means of integrating the community and its ideas into the process.All CAC meetings are open to the public.
