Jobs for Somerville members kicked-off this program with an interactive workshop in May to teach First Source participants about their basic legal rights on the job and how to assert those rights. Join us for the next training on July 7th!

Please join the Somerville Community Corporation and Cambridge's Office of Workforce Development for an information session on the MassWIN-GlX Program and Building Pathways Pre-apprenticeship Program. Recent participants of the program will speak about their experience and pass along tips for the application process.

Summertime Fun! Union Square East Block Party & Planning Session

On June 6, SCC held a block party at our Linden Street properties. Tenants and neighbors enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of games, fun activities, and food.  We followed up by hosting a community design workshop in Union Square East, where people shared what they want to see in their neighborhood around connectivity, density, and benefits as new development occurs.

Union United is a coalition of stakeholders, including small business owners, residents, activists, immigrant groups, religious congregations, labor unions, and community-based organizations, working to ensure that the Union Square redevelopment process results in tangible benefits — not displacement — for the Union Square community.

The Somerville by Design team has been working hard to process the feedback from the Charrette, reviewing surveys, and meeting with community groups, residents, and local business owners.

Come join the next Open House to hear about and discuss the Union Square Plan. The team will be presenting about the development of the D Parcels.

The Job Seekers Support Group is a space for job seekers to share their experiences in the job search process and networking with other job seekers.  This will also be a time for non-native English speakers to practice their language skills in a safe and comfortable environment.
