First-Time Homebuyers

porch view of a Somerville MA homeAre you considering purchasing your first home, but feeling overwhelmed by the process involved? Don’t go it alone.

Somerville Community Corporation offers a comprehensive education program for First-Time Homebuyers. The four-session, 12-hour series features presentations from a real estate agent, a lender, a home inspector, a real estate attorney, and an insurance agent. Together with SCC staff, these experts in the field provide valuable information and insight into each stage of the home buying process. Download the schedule of classes (PDF format).

Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate that enables them to access products geared specifically towards first-time homebuyers such as the ONE and MassHousing loans. The classes are taught in English. Pre-registration is required, and the registration fee is $45 per person. Participants must attend all sessions in order to receive the certificate.

For more information or to register, please contact Janine Lotti, asset building specialist, at 617.776.5931, ext. 228.
