After wrapping up the visioning meetings, the City, US2 and the designers will set up temporary office space in the old Post Office at 237 Washington Street from Monday, March 9th through Wednesday, March 11th. You can “drop in” at any time that works for your schedule between 10am and 8pm. You can chat with our project team, you can watch our designers sketch a hundred different ideas for new public spaces, transportation solutions, and office and housing development.
- On Monday and Tuesday, there will be a series of one-hour topical sessions on issues that residents have identified as priorities for Union Square. The designers will be listening in on these sessions for guidance and feedback. An offer of morning, daytime and evening sessions are available so those with different scheduling needs can participate when it works best for them.
- On Wednesday, there are no formal daytime sessions, but you can drop in during daytime hours from 10am to 5pm. The three-day charrette process wraps up on Wednesday night with a “Pin-Up Presentation” (also at the old Post Office, 7:30 to 9pm).
Drawings displayed for everyone to see and critique. There will be a short presentation to explain things, and then attendees are asked to fill out survey forms describing what they like and don’t like about each design idea. This is so the team can get even more information from folks who live and work in the neighborhood, and use that information to make another round of edits during the month of April.
